My very first dog

All my life I have been "dog crazy" person and I have wanted to be and work with dogs! My first dog was a American cocker spaniel named Lucinagirl at home called Lucy. I was then 10 year old when I got her and she was my door to the dog world. We attended some dog shows but we never won anythig. Lucy was 12.5 years old when she died to pneumonia. Lucy had one litter with a black and tan american cocker spaniel male named Cessy-Felin-Bakkara. They had  6 puppies (1 female and 5 males): Lawrence, Lawal, Lavazzo, Lapron and Lady

                                                                   My first Pyr

My very first Pyrenean mountain dog came from Finland, kennel Lumiekelin ... she is called Brenda with official name Lumienkelin Amatsoni. Brenda thought me many things about this breed and with her I have entered many dogs shows and she has been the most succsessful show dog I have ever had. Brenda is my my pride and joy! Wonderful dog to own and always ready to please. When Brenda was one year old I decided to get another Pyr in our house and that was a gorgeous male named Beethoven Symphonie de la Plaine d'Astree from France. He was such a sweet male and beautiful but he had many health problems and at the age of 13 months I made the hardest desision in my life ... I let him free to the other side. Having just a one Pyr is not enough for me ... so little time went by and I saw an interesting combination in Netherlands and the breeder is a friend of mine. In January 2008 baby girl Gabriella Mia La Joie Blanche came to our family. Mia has grew up to be very tall girl ... about 77 cm tall  ... Mia has also been succsessful in dogs shows and she has a great future ahead of her. In March 2009 another Pyr was added to our website and she is named Lumienkelin Bettiina  ... having already two female at the house was enough ... so Betty lives with her co-owners Kristel and Janis Raid .... looking forward to what is in for her in the future. In the same year a beautiful male from Belgium joined our dog family - Iber de la Belletiere.

                                                                 The kennel name

The kennel name Echo de'Chien I registered in 2006. Where does the name come from?? When I lived in Cork, Ireland I passed the main street of Cork named St. Patricks street were men selling and shouting out a newspaper named Evening Echo (local paper). They did it very loudly and it just stick in your head and everyone knew what they were shoutig about. That is why my kennel name is starting with ECHO (and it means the same thing in french as in english). CHIEN means a dog in french so I do not have to explain the story behind that because it is obvious. Echo de'Chien means "Echo of the Dog". I think it sounds very nice ;)

                                                                Our goal in breeding

Having not been in the breed very long I have to say that I have lot to learn and study from other breeders. I am very greatful that I have had opportunites to visit some countrys and she their stock ... in conclusion to my trips I have to say that there is no perfict dog anywhere ... diffenerent lines have many good qualities witch I would like to see in my dogs as well in the future. The goal for all the breeders no mather witch breed should be the same  .........   To breed healthy and sound dogs according to their standard!
